Google Launches a developers android phone Posted on:8-12-2008

The Android Development Phone is released featuring an unlocked GSM and UMTS hardware with an unlocked bootloader contains Android 1.0 version for development access to desired features and hardware on the device while allowing the same specifications as the consumer version while not having to deal with the carrier lock or restricted bootloader as you may find on the T-Mobile G1.
While Google says that the T-Mobile G1 can be used for development in its retail form, it should be noted that this device is not recommended for the avarage consumer without some android phones knowledge of firmware programming and image creation, as the device arrives with support for unsigned application running and open firmware writing capability for loading different Android builds.
All that is required in order to buy the device is a $25 application payment for the Android Marketplace along with registration information, and the device can be bought directly from Google for $399.99 with a strict limit of one per individual or organization.
It currently can be purchased in 18 countries including the US, UK, India, Germany,Austria, Japan, , Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia,Sweden, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Finland, Poland, and Hungary will receive access to the hardware with future expansion planned to other countries in the near future.
